Quant Token Rallies 13% Amid Wider Market Slump

Quant token rallied 13% to reach roughly $214 on Monday, defying a wider crypto market slump. The surge was driven by spot purchases and U.S. demand tied to The Clearing House's tokenized-deposit network.

Quant’s QNT token surged 13% on Monday, October 26, reaching roughly $214 and marking the top performance among all top-100 coins. Meanwhile, Bitcoin and Ethereum declined alongside a 1.6% drop in the overall crypto market cap. The sudden rally occurred without any fresh announcements. Instead, buyers returned to a familiar narrative: The Clearing House’s tokenized-deposit network designed for major U.S. banks.

After hitting $223.96 on Binance before cooling down, QNT sits up nearly 100% over the past month. This raises questions about what is driving these green candles and whether the momentum can persist.

Green Candle in a Red Market: Why Is QNT Crypto Rising Today?

The price action stems from spot purchases rather than leverage. By 15:00 UTC, Binance’s QNT spot pair had registered $27.4 million in volume—more than double its daily average for the preceding week—with the bulk occurring between 08:00 and 12:00 UTC.

Derivatives activity remained minimal. Open interest for QNT perpetuals on OKX hovers around $340,000 with slightly negative funding rates, meaning traders shorting QNT are paying those going long. Because short-sellers are funding the move, the rally is free from borrowed money.

Purchasing pressure also originates in the United States. Following Binance, Coinbase’s dollar pair generated approximately $26 million in volume to rank as the second-largest QNT market, with Kraken taking third place. This geographic activity aligns with the token’s underlying narrative.

What Is the Clearing House Deal Behind QNT?

This development mirrors the catalyst that caused QNT to quadruple in value over four days in September, jumping from $70.62 to $286.26. On September 24, The Clearing House—a payments firm owned by leading U.S. banks—selected Quant to provide the interoperability layer for its On-Chain Money Initiative. The network will enable banks to settle tokenized deposits, which are digital representations of traditional bank deposits, and link them with the RTP and CHIPS payment infrastructures.

The timeline remains extended. Design and bank integration will proceed throughout the autumn, initial bank onboarding is slated for the first quarter of 2027, and live transactions are scheduled for the second quarter. Consequently, revenue for Quant remains a 2027 milestone.

Circulating supply amplifies price swings. Out of a maximum 14.6 million QNT tokens, 14.56 million are already in circulation, leaving no massive token unlocks to absorb fresh demand. With a market capitalization near $3.1 billion, relatively modest buying can shift the price significantly.

QNT Price Analysis: Can It Reclaim $250?

Chart patterns clarify the timing of this week’s buying. QNT’s month-long correction from its September 27 peak of $373 concluded on Saturday at $173.56, hitting the 50-day EMA (now $172.91) and nearing the 61.8% Fibonacci retracement level of $176.65 from the August–September rally. Monday’s trading candle subsequently surpassed the October 21 high of $212.87.

Support levels rest at $200, aligning with last week’s 4-hour swing lows, followed by $173.50, which marks the 50-day EMA and Saturday’s low. A daily close below $200 would invalidate Monday’s breakout.

Resistance is established at $251.60—the 38.2% retracement level—near the $255 ceiling that halted every bounce between October 8 and 10. Breaking and closing above this threshold would clear a path toward the early-October highs around $270.
Although QNT trades 43% below its September high and half its 2021 record of $427.42, today’s chart highlights spot buyers, predominantly trading in U.S. dollars, supporting a token connected to the American banking sector with minimal leverage.
